Today many of us are enjoying a day off from work or school...Me, I'm enjoying a day off at Nana and Pawpaw's house. (It's my very best favorite getaway place!) But what exactly are we enjoying this day off for, I wonder???
Well, because I'm like my Mommy and I love to research, I dug up some information on today. Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday. Dr. King was a baptist minister and one of the main leaders of the American Civil rights movement. He fought many years for people of all races and colors to have equality, and Dr. King was eventually assassinated on this quest.
Dr. King had a dream, and it was a beautiful dream. His 1963 speech is here in its entirety. Please, take a moment to experience Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream Speech".

Look out Michael Buble!!!
'Cause I'm already practicing my piano skills! Soon I'll know the words to all your songs (Mom plays them constantly) and I'll be able to croon better than anyone!

Rewind to the "Ho, Ho, Ho!" Part...
Okay, I know that Christmas is so last year, but I wanted to share my pictures from the ho-ho-ho season. This will probably be lengthy, so get yourself some coffee (Paw-Paw!) and get off your feet (Nana!)...=0)~
First, there are pictures from the Christmas party at Uncle Jason's church. Here's Aunt Laney, Uncle Jason, and Riley-Cate. Aren't they pretty?!
I tried, or rather Mom and Dad tried, to watch the Christmas presentation with me, but I was just too busy to sit still, so I went into the playroom to burn off some steam...
There were lots of pretty girls at the party...
But I was only interested in the food!!! (Which was shoved into my mouth at an ALARMING rate!!!)
Next we had an early suprise Christmas party for my Aunt Angel. I slept through this party, but I still wanted you all to see how cute she is!
We decided to go down to Jefferson to ride on the Rail of Lights. It's this old steam train that goes around all the neat decorated places in Jefferson. We had lots of fun!
And then there was the Downtown Baptist Church Christmas party...
Here's Riley-Cate getting her gift from Santa...
I think Paw-Paw should get a DNA test!!! Just kidding, this was Riley-Cate's new dolly!!
Here's me with Santa. I'm pretty sure his beard wasn't too real, some of it came off in my hand when I yanked on it!!
All of this partying wore me out...so much that I actually fell asleep while Paw-Paw was holding me!!
My cousin Lori had a cookie baking party at her house, but seeing as how I'm not a pastry chef, I mostly just looked cute...cause that's what I'm really good at!!
And FINALLY we arrive at Christmas day. We stayed at my Nana's house because that's where Santa goes. I unwrapped a couple of presents and helped Riley-Cate with hers too!
I got a tractor that really runs...
And Riley-Cate got a pink four-wheeler, and she left me in the dust!!! =0)
Here's me with some of my other Christmas presents...
I got a baby grand piano...and this baby thinks it's pretty darn grand!!!
I also got a shiny red wagon from my Meme and some alphabet blocks from my Uncle Josh. I love to watch people build block towers...
But I REALLY love to knock them down!!!
Here's me cruising with my new Mickey in my super cool trike ride-on from Nana and Paw-Paw...Whoo!!
And last but not least, here's me opening my present from Granny Cindy and Great Uncle Richard...
It's this really neat hippo I can ride on. It has blocks that I can roll the hippo over and he REALLY eats them!!
I fell off after that last picture, but don't worry...I got right back in the saddle!
So there we are, Christmas of 2007, I hope you all enjoyed these pictures as much as I did making them. Now I'm off for some more robitussin to stave off this cold of mine!!

Yee-Haw! Happy New Year!
Me and Daddy were getting ready for our New Year's Eve shin-dig tonight, and I tried on one of his undershirts...It's still way big, but that's okay, 'cause one day it'll fit just like Daddy's!!!
Just wanted to quickly share that and I want to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year!

Christmas Time Is Here!!!
Tomorrow is my very first Christmas!! I'm looking forward to playing with all of the paper and boxes my presents will be packaged in...Who needs a pricey plastic toy when a boy's got paper and bows???
Here's some pictures of me getting ready for Santa...
First, there's storytime with this really smart bear. He reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to me, and we have a grand ol' time!
This is my cousin, Riley-Cate. We are facing off over a Santa Bear. She's older than me, but I'm bigger, so this could get interesting!!
And then here's me being Santa's little helper...Wait! Paw-Paw's not Santa Claus...Santa lives in the North Pole, and besides, Paw-Paw is way too busy being my hero to make and deliver all those toys!
And here's a little something from Henry Van Dyke:
"Be glad of life, because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars."

The Next Episode...
Mom's all finished with her school stuff for the rest of the year!!! Too bad that's only like 26 days, but at least there's some kind of break! She got A's in every single class, and I gotta tell ya that most of the credit goes to me for that...if I hadn't been needing my diapers changed and my bottles made and my clothes all clean, she probably would have failed every class! Plus I chewed on her highlighters real good...that helps with concentration,I have scientifically proven it!
So anyway, I thought that it was time to update you all on the goings on in my life as of late. I have had a date, a shiner, some peach cobbler, and even a Christmas parade!!!
First, there was the date. The girl, you've seen her before, but I think she gets prettier every day! Here's me and Emma holding hands...
And this is her Daddy, Damien. He's giving me an important talk about cleaning guns on the front porch...what does that have to do with me holding Emma's hand?!
Next there was the shiner, but dont' worry, this wasn't a result of my date. This was the result of a head on collision with the recliner. Mom says I take after my Daddy, because who else could hurt theirself on padded furniture?!
Having my first big boy boo-boo made me feel all grown-up and manly, like putting on camo and playing with my jungle cats!
This is me just being cute in the hat my Aunt Laney and Uncle Jason gave to me. Here' my impression of a deer in headlights...
And then here I am smiling, 'cause that's what Bens do best!
Paw-Paw made some peach cobbler, and I even got to try some!
I love peach cobbler!
Here's me all bundled up like a snow bunny to watch the Christmas parade! Who's that other person with me?!
It's my Nanners all wrapped up in her scarf!
I liked the parade, and these girls were falling all over themselves to tell me how cute I was...
I must admit that they were pretty cute, but this is my favorite girl right here...she gives me candy canes, what else does a boy need?
Love and Candy Canes,
Benjamin G. Ross
