Yee-Haw! Happy New Year!

Me and Daddy were getting ready for our New Year's Eve shin-dig tonight, and I tried on one of his undershirts...It's still way big, but that's okay, 'cause one day it'll fit just like Daddy's!!!

Just wanted to quickly share that and I want to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year!

Christmas Time Is Here!!!

Tomorrow is my very first Christmas!! I'm looking forward to playing with all of the paper and boxes my presents will be packaged in...Who needs a pricey plastic toy when a boy's got paper and bows???

Here's some pictures of me getting ready for Santa...

First, there's storytime with this really smart bear. He reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to me, and we have a grand ol' time!

This is my cousin, Riley-Cate. We are facing off over a Santa Bear. She's older than me, but I'm bigger, so this could get interesting!!

And then here's me being Santa's little helper...Wait! Paw-Paw's not Santa Claus...Santa lives in the North Pole, and besides, Paw-Paw is way too busy being my hero to make and deliver all those toys!

And here's a little something from Henry Van Dyke:

"Be glad of life, because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars."

The Next Episode...

Mom's all finished with her school stuff for the rest of the year!!! Too bad that's only like 26 days, but at least there's some kind of break! She got A's in every single class, and I gotta tell ya that most of the credit goes to me for that...if I hadn't been needing my diapers changed and my bottles made and my clothes all clean, she probably would have failed every class! Plus I chewed on her highlighters real good...that helps with concentration,I have scientifically proven it!

So anyway, I thought that it was time to update you all on the goings on in my life as of late. I have had a date, a shiner, some peach cobbler, and even a Christmas parade!!!

First, there was the date. The girl, you've seen her before, but I think she gets prettier every day! Here's me and Emma holding hands...

And this is her Daddy, Damien. He's giving me an important talk about cleaning guns on the front porch...what does that have to do with me holding Emma's hand?!

Next there was the shiner, but dont' worry, this wasn't a result of my date. This was the result of a head on collision with the recliner. Mom says I take after my Daddy, because who else could hurt theirself on padded furniture?!

Having my first big boy boo-boo made me feel all grown-up and manly, like putting on camo and playing with my jungle cats!

This is me just being cute in the hat my Aunt Laney and Uncle Jason gave to me. Here' my impression of a deer in headlights...

And then here I am smiling, 'cause that's what Bens do best!

Paw-Paw made some peach cobbler, and I even got to try some!

I love peach cobbler!

Here's me all bundled up like a snow bunny to watch the Christmas parade! Who's that other person with me?!

It's my Nanners all wrapped up in her scarf!

I liked the parade, and these girls were falling all over themselves to tell me how cute I was...

I must admit that they were pretty cute, but this is my favorite girl right here...she gives me candy canes, what else does a boy need?

This Little Ranger's Alllllll Better!!!

Okay, so last time you heard from me I was all sniffley and coughy and just, just YUCK! It wasn't all bad though, Paw-Paw came over to help, and we took naps together like back when I was just a little boy! Ahhh...the good ol' times!

Then, when I got all better, Paw-Paw took me to camp and we did Camp Ranger stuff. It even says "Park Ranger" on my shirt! The hat I will have to grow into I think!

Tomorrow is my first Thanksgiving. Well, I guess technically last year I was there, but all I could do was take small samples and give Mommy lots of indigestion for it! This year I'm a brand new man, and I'm ready for this stuff called "turkey & dressing"! It's going to be a regular smorgasbord!!! Daddy deep fries the turkey and Meme makes the dressing. Nana makes the pies, and Aunt Laney makes the green bean casserole. Mommy makes the ham, and this year she's making a homemade cheesecake too! However, all of that simply pales in comparison to the REAL reason for Thanksgiving...Meme's SCRUMDIDLIUMPTIOUS!!!!

No, in all seriousness. Well, as serious as a baby can be...tomorrow I will be thankful for the food that I will feed myself because I'm almost as independent as my mother, but what I will truly be thankful for is the beautiful family that I have been blessed to be born into. God was smiling the day he picked my family for me, and I will be smiling for years to come because of it!

Colds Are Not Cool...

I just haven't been feeling too hot the past couple of days. My top teeth are poking through, and it hurts something fierce! AAAAND to top that off, I have a cold. My throat's all scratchy and my nose is all stuffy. I have no idea why they are called colds because they are not cool in the slightest!

But not to worry, I have a vast assortment of treatments to choose from...
Because of the childproof nature of all of the bottles, Dr. Mom and Dr. Dad are dispensing my medication. That's good because it would have taken me years to bite through the top of this cap!!!

What's All This Nonsense About Teeth?!

Okay, as you can see here in this super-duper-extra-close to me picture, I have two shiny new teeth! I worked really hard chewing on stuff (toys, teething rings, people's fingers) to get them here, and I'm really proud of them. What I don't understand is why Mommy went today and had FOUR wisdom teeth cut out. I mean, I know she's smart and all, but is she really so smart that she's got to get rid of some of it?! Oh well, here's to Mommy and to her getting better soon! I love you Mommy!

T-I-Double-GRRRRR!!!!!

The wonderful thing about Bens, is that Bens are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber, their bottoms are made out of springs!
They're bouncy, clouncy, flouncy, pouncy, and fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the best thing about Bens is I'm the only one!!!

Well, that poem is actually supposed to be about my friend, Tigger, but seeing as how I pretended to be him for Halloween, I thought it would be okay to replace his name with mine for literary comedy's sake!

I wanted to share some pictures from my first Halloween. I know you all like it when the pictures are individually listed and carefully organized with quotations, but this time I had to put them in a nifty slide show in order to hurry up and let Mommy have the computer back to do her homework. Geeezzz....these parents who put off their research papers until the last minute! What am I ever going to do with her?!

Anyways...Hope you enjoy the show!

I've Been Working On The Railroad!!!

I have my very own train that choo-choos its way down its very own track!

I wasn't so sure what to think about it at first...

But then I loved it!

P.S. Make sure you scroll down and look at all the new posts I've put up...there's been a few lately!

Carvin' Up Some Fun!!!

Last weekend we had a Halloween party, and it was tons of fun! We invited some friends, carved some pumpkins, and ate some excellent food that Mommy cooked. I have to say that her chicken scallopini is fantabulous...and I'm one to know, because I'm now a solid food connoisseur! Here are some of my favorite pics from our party...

I was Tigger! As you can see here, I really enjoyed the party, but this is the only picture of me there because I had some sleeping business to take care of the rest of the time!

The little "monkey" that I was playing with was my friend, Emma. She's really fun...and pretty too, but don't tell her I said that!

We had some picture taking time...Here's Emma with her Mommy and Daddy, whose grown up names are Jessica and Damien.

Emma got soooo sleepy from all the picture taking that she fell asleep sitting on her Mommy's shoulders!

Here's all the ladies posing together...what a good lookin' bunch!

This is my cousin, Katelyn, with her Mommy, Lori. I think Katelyn looks cute and very athletic!

My Daddy and Damien are B.F.F.'s...but only in a very manly way!

Next it was pumpkin carvin' time...I was asleep for this part too, but everyone else had a grand ol' time!

Emma wasn't much on the carving, seeing as she's too small to play with knives, so she played with my toys instead. That's fine with me, she's so cute she can do whatever she wants...but don't tell her I told you that!

Meme didn't carve a pumpkin either...she supervised and kept all the grown-ups in line!

Here are some of the finished pumpkins...

This one is Mommy's rendition of Tigger...I think it looks just like him!

Daddy did this vampire biting a woman..but it's only pretend. No humans were harmed in the making of this pumpkin!

This bat was carved by Jessica, and I think she did a fabulous job!

This one is like an optical illusion! First it looks like a ghoul, but inside there's a witch! Damien worked really hard on this one!

We all had a great time at our Pumpkin' Carvin' Party! I can't wait until next year when I can stay up for the whole thing! Until next time...

Benjamin G. Ross
